Sonntag-Stein Cable Car

The gondola of the Sonntag-Stein cable car swings in a spectacular ride from one side of the valley to the other in the Großes Walsertal.

Right across from the biosphärenpark.haus, the small cable car takes you to the hiking area of Sonntag-Stein in just a few minutes.

Families can hear the sounds of nature on the themed trail Klangraum.Stein in a whole new way before fortifying themselves at the barbecue area with a self-baked calzone from the clay oven for new adventures. Just a few steps away from the barbecue area, a new playground with water games and a special cave in an old lime kiln has been created.

Sporty hikers climb the Wandfluh or the Breithorn and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Großes Walsertal. Climbers will find their challenge at the climbing wall of the Wandfluh.

And the crowning finale of every tour in the hiking area of Sonntag-Stein is a visit to one of the managed huts.

In the hiking and climbing area of Sonntag-Stein, there is much to discover. On one hand, the playground in Klangraum.Stein invites children and families to play and linger. On the other hand, the Wandfluh via ferrata, which opened in June 2024, will excite adventure seekers and climbing enthusiasts. Via ferrata sets can be conveniently rented at the mountain station.


Winter
With the gondola in just 7 minutes directly from the village to Sonntag-Stein. There, the Oberpartnom double chairlift with two runs and the ski route awaits. And not only skiers and snowboarders enjoy the authenticity of the area around Sonntag-Stein. It is also a small paradise for winter and snowshoe hiking, and a toboggan run leads from Unterpartnom to Stein. Toboggans can be rented daily at the mountain station.
